This tool is an illustration calculated in your browser; nothing you enter is sent or stored. Your group’s own rules, your loan agreement and your regulator decide the real figures. SenteRail is software, not a lender, bank or adviser.

How a merry-go-round works

Every member pays the same amount each round and one member receives the whole pot. The rotation continues until every member has received the pot once. Over a full cycle, what each member pays equals the pot they receive, which is why the order and dates are what members care about.

Welfare and fines

Many chamas collect a welfare amount on top of the contribution. The planner shows it separately and keeps it out of the pot. Fines and what happens to a missed round are not modelled; they belong in your constitution.

From the plan to the record

Keep each member’s contribution records together in SenteRail, with access to their own statements. This standalone planner helps you work through an example; it does not schedule payments in the product.

Questions about merry-go-round rounds

How the planner works and what it leaves to your constitution.

Does every member receive the same amount?

In a plain merry-go-round, yes. Every member pays the same amount each round and each member receives the full pot once, so what each member pays over the cycle equals the pot they receive.

How is welfare handled?

Welfare is collected on top of the contribution each round and kept apart from the pot. It is not paid to the round’s recipient; your group decides how the welfare fund is used.

Is this the same as table banking?

No. Table banking pools savings that members then borrow from, with interest. This planner covers the rotating pot only. For loans from a pool, use the loan repayment calculator.

What about late payments and fines?

They are not modelled. Fines and what happens when a member misses a round belong in your group’s constitution.
